Much like any heritage brand, Birkenstock's popularity has come in waves – in the '60s, '70s, '90s and today, it is once again, acclaimed by outdoors enthusiasts, celebrities, models –and now influencers – alike. This is due in part to a renewed strategy that Kahan has put in place in his time with the company, and a philosophy of maintaining the heritage of the brand, while finding new and innovative ways to create excitement with consumers.
