The Opportunity

As a brand-new soccer club entering the San Diego market, SD Loyal needed to build awareness quickly while earning trust in a city that had experienced its share of highs and lows in professional sports.

The Insight

To create a brand that felt authentic to San Diego, we knew the identity had to come directly from the community itself. By listening closely to local perspectives and embracing the city’s culture, history, and pride, we could build a club that fans genuinely wanted to rally behind.

Creating a club that felt distinctly San Diego

We developed a visual identity system designed to reflect the culture and character of San Diego. The club crest incorporated natural shades inspired by the city, a custom “SD” mark, and subtle references to the Spanish architecture found throughout local neighborhoods. The resulting identity helped establish a strong sense of place, authenticity, and hometown pride from day one.

Launch Campaign

Building a Soccer Community

To support the club launch, we created uniforms, merchandise, social media assets, and comprehensive brand guidelines that created consistency across every fan touchpoint. The campaign helped generate excitement ahead of the inaugural season, reinforced SD Loyal’s connection to the San Diego community, and laid the foundation for a passionate local fanbase.
