Crafting a Brand Identity for Wireless Sound
Denon is a longstanding global electronics brand with a reputation for quality and innovation. With the launch of HEOS, its app-enabled wireless speaker system, Denon set out to bring a new generation of sound to music lovers everywhere.

Denon came to us with just a prototype of its wireless speaker system. With the product still in pre-production, we had to imagine how to build an engaging brand presence that could stand out in a competitive market and get the story out.
We saw an opportunity to leverage Denon's reputation for superior sound while differentiating HEOS in a competitive market. To deliver on this goal, we developed a strategic launch plan informed by audience and market research, created a distinct brand identity, and built promotional materials to bring it to market.
Creating an identity for the future
Our branding process started with a naming project. After several rounds of brainstorming, we couldn't find a word that felt right, so we made one up. To us, “HEOS” carried the feeling of confidence and sophistication that Denon wanted to achieve, and inspired a sense of innovation as we looked toward the future. We then worked through iterations of logos and developed a style guide that expressed the youthful irreverence and tech-savviness Denon wanted to portray.
