Agency pledges in-kind donation equal to two percent of its annual service revenue
Red Door Interactive recently signed a multi-year, pro bono agreement with New Leaders for New Schools, a nationwide organization that recruits and trains aspiring urban public school principals.
The strategic Internet Presence Management firm will commit the in-kind equivalent of two percent of its annual service revenue to the nonprofit group.
“This partnership will be critical to helping us achieve our goals in attracting outstanding, diverse and committed educators to take critical leadership roles in primary and secondary schools in order to raise student performance. Our Internet strategy will be an important driver to making that happen,” said Julie Horowitz, Chief External Affairs Officer at New Leaders for New Schools. “We’re so grateful to Red Door for making this commitment to our organization.”
This agreement marks a strategic shift in the way Red Door Interactive views and executes its pro bono efforts. In the beginning of the year, the agency set out on the task to identify a non-profit where it could apply its Internet Presence Management model to solve a big, social, long-term challenge. Previously, Red Door Interactive had been spreading its in-kind support thinly over many organizations.
“Though we were doing good, frequent philanthropic work, we weren’t operating within our normal, results-oriented, long-term construct,” said Reid Carr, President of Red Door Interactive. “We want to make a bigger difference by being who we are for someone who we feel is solving something that solves other problems and commit the entire company more deeply to that cause. New Leaders for New Schools fits that bill and it was an easy choice for every employee to get behind.”
New Leaders for New Schools mission ensures high academic achievement for every student by attracting and preparing outstanding leaders and supporting the performance of the urban public schools they lead, at scale. It has partnerships in Baltimore, California’s Bay Area, Charlotte, Chicago, Jefferson Parish, Memphis, Milwaukee, Newark, New Orleans, New York City, Prince George’s County (MD), and Washington, DC. Since 2000, New Leaders has selected and trained over 640 outstanding leaders from over 10,000 applicants. New Leaders for New Schools has been recognized for the last 5 years as the highest rated social enterprise and nonprofit in the nation by Fast Company magazine, and was the only nonprofit partnership chosen as Harvard University’s 2009 Innovations in American Government Award winner. “It’s exciting to be able to make a sustained positive impact for such a worthy cause,” said Kim Weinstein, Online Acquisitions Coordinator at Red Door Interactive’ Denver office. “New Leaders for New Schools shares a similar, results-oriented passion for their work as we do for ours, so the synergies are strong. Building a long-standing partnership means we’ll be able to deliver lasting benefits in terms of increased interest and support from educators, agencies and sponsors. I look forward to seeing that the work we do translates to quantifiable good in the communities in which I live and work.”
