Red Door Employee Spotlight: David Holtze, Business Manager

Red Door is growing! One of our key new hires is former McCann Worldgroup director David Holtze, stepping in as our newest business manager. David was most recently responsible for the global marketing agency’s NAS Recruitment Communication division’s business development initiatives, and previously led three of its offices in San Diego, Chicago and Phoenix.

Originally from the Windy City, David fell in love with San Diego (”the people, the ocean, the weather, the laid back vibe, the weather…”) while working in Phoenix, but this self-proclaimed weekend traveler loves to take quick trips around the US as well as longer trips to visit friends living all over the globe, like an upcoming sojourn to New Zealand in February.

When he isn’t packing a suitcase, David plays the guitar and croons vocals around his North PB neighborhood. Not one to stay inside, David surfs, hikes and has been known to run half-marathons and marathons.

Next version of Internet Explorer will block ads?

I came across this article recently about Microsoft’s next version of Internet Explorer. Apparently it might have a feature that, while protecting users privacy, may make it impossible for third party vendors to track your actions and habits as you peruse the web. Either Microsoft will cave from the pressure of ad vendors to remove this feature, or the vendors will find a way around it.

What I find interesting is that the ability to block ads and tracking code has been around for years… if you use Mozilla’s Firefox . A handy little plug-in called AdBlock Plus can block all types of ads: banner, flash or text. The plug-in prevents the content from downloading, and therefore from rendering on your screen, speeding up your browsing experience considerably.
