I realize that this is old news by now, but I figured one of us had to at least get it in our blog archive on the release date...

iPhone, the revolutionary combination of a mobile phone, widescreen iPod, and Internet communications device, is coming to the online Apple Store and retail Apple Stores on June 29, 2007, with AT&T as the exclusive U.S. carrier partner.

Industry Continues to Set New Records; Revenues Up 26% from Same Period Last Year



New York, NY (June 6, 2007) – The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) today announced that Internet advertising revenues reached a new record of $4.9 billion for the first quarter of 2007. The 2007 first quarter revenues represent a 26 percent increase over Q1 2006 at $3.8 billion and a 2 percent increase over Q4 2006 at $4.8 billion.



'The continued growth of online ad revenues clearly illustrates marketers' increased comfort with the extraordinary vitality and accountability of this medium,' said IAB President and CEO Randall Rothenberg. 'It reaches consumers with an unprecedented level of efficiency and measurability that provides marketers with actionable data. And the ever-changing landscape of new platforms and technologies that enrich interactive advertising guarantees that this growth trend will continue.'"

Story telling in the digital age

Story telling. It’s been around since man painted pictures on the walls of his caves and spend the night huddled around the campfire for warmth. (Wearing fur, mind you, long in the days before PETA). But story telling is still valid today in our multi-channel world. It adds strength and authenticity to a brand. (But be truthful, because these days you can’t erase your footsteps in the Google-sands of time.)

Vayama is the new international specific travel booking site. Nice feature to configure flights visually through a map view.

Orbitz releases a desktop app (Insider Deals) featuring special deals and tracking tools.

How Ads Really Work

Usability vs. Revenue.

The author switched off ads on his site for members and paradoxically saw an increase in traffic. The rationale he holds is that frequent visitors tune out graphical ads. He is a champion of context sensitive advertising a la the google model.
