Microsoft ECMA/ISO move could give Office formats new lease on life | Between the Lines | ZDNet.com
It's worth the five minutes to read this excellent analysis of the Microsoft XML Reference Schema versus Open Document Framework debate. Both are up for ISO consideration. One appears likely to be ratified; the other, too little, too late.

I'm not much of a German Car freak. But I am a fan of good blogs. There are a lot of hidden gems to this blog, which no doubt are thrid party widgets implemented by their web team. I like the track-back DHTML widget. I also like the Zeitgeist map present on each page of the blog, albeit the placement could be a bit better. The ads could be a bit more sparse and bit better targetted (e.g. why would a visitor to this site be interested in New Balance tennis shoes?). The copy is extremely keyword rich and not poorly written as a result.

Google is letting Web site owners submit their data to google for free. For many this is an attractive option. Let Google host your data for free. You structure it. They save it. Short of the savings on infrastructure what's in it for you? What's in it for them? This remains to be seen.

I love the use of the screen here. Not a terrible navigation either. Rewards the curius, which seems to be the promise here. Kudos, Time.

Forrester Research: My View: The Google Future (Login Required)
The Executable Internet has an AJAXian ring to it. I’m skeptical that software can be 100% advertising driven. However, I am not skeptical that advertising could be at the core of software. I can imagine a world where you pay a nominal per-person annual subscription fee for software AND have it be supplemented by advertising.
Old "Publishing" paradigm: Vanity Fair and Martha Stewart Living.
New "Publishing" Paradigm: Google Desktop and Yahoo Konfabulator.
