Google is single-handedly trying to take on the establishment and move people and advertisers from offline to online. It is clearly in their best interest because they own so much of the Internet traffic, but this is happening so incredibly fast - it is amazing that they are moving at such a rapid clip.
Why can't Microsoft, Yahoo! and others keep up? Is it management? Culture (maybe the dotcom era did serve a purpose: it produced trends within the culture of innovation)?

From Mediapost today:
Google is introducing a new video search service today that will enable people to find information and video broadcast on TV. The video search service will be offered in an index capable of tracking content that previously aired on TV networks by scanning closed caption text. The Google video index includes programming from ABC, PBS, Fox News, and C-SPAN.
