B.I.O.N.I.C. Golf

In 2008, the Ground Floor agency launched its first web site for B.I.O.N.I.C. Golf which was founded in 1990 as a program of golf for students with special needs. As founder of B.I.O.N.I.C. (Believe It Or Not I Can) Golf, Martha Sue Yeary intends to bring awareness to communities of the need to reach out to those.

Golf is a physical challenge and a test of your mental and emotional control. If you understand the reason you struggle with results, you can overcome the obstacle. B.I.O.N.I.C. Golf began with lady golfer after a stroke to her left side. Although her normal walking was effected, she used short, sliding steps with her left foot and managed to get around quite well. With no use of her left arm she feared she might not be able to return to the golf course. The missing element in her life was golf and she wanted it back. Although four hours apart, she worked together with B.I.O.N.I.C. Golf for several months. The look on her face as she was able to hit balls with only one arm created the desire to take this "golf therapy" to others. The process changed Martha Sue's life and has continued to do so with each student.

While searching for ways to accommodate special needs, B.I.O.N.I.C. Golf found the real question is "who's disabled?" No matter who you are, you struggle with physical and emotional challenges. We all have to adapt. Given the opportunity and nurturing, anyone can learn to play golf.

Ground Floor will work together to develop a redefined web site and awareness strategy for B.I.O.N.I.C. Golf, bionicgolf.org.
