Interpublic: Online Poised To Supplant Newspapers As World’s No. 2 Ad Medium - MediaPost
“Online advertising is now on pace to become the world’s second largest advertising medium – just behind TV – by the 2013, according to a revised global advertising report released this morning by Interpublic’s Magna Global unit.
The agency, long respected as Madison Avenue’s definitive source for the global ad economy, projected worldwide online ad spending would surpass the $100 billion mark, totaling $103 billion in 2015, due largely to an expansion of online advertising inventory.”
Though newspapers are expected to see 1.8% growth, the findings reflect the continued dramatic shift away from daily print news media to digital channels.

Twitter Launches “Places” Feature with Foursquare Integration - Mashable
“After months of rumors and hinting, Twitter has unveiled its major new foray into the world of geolocation, Twitter Places. Features of this launch include:
• Foursquare and Gowalla integration
• API functionality that lets developers integrate Twitter Places into their applications
• Support for more browsers: Safari and Internet Explorer, in addition to Chrome or Firefox
With this addition Twitter’s ad serving mechanism is prepped to explode with location based tweets.”

AOL’s ‘Make Or Break’ Bid To Become A Content Network - MediaPost
“Over 90 days into his role as president of AOL’s Media and Studios division, David Eun is outlining the company’s singular mission as a top content creator. The plan is to “galvanize and build content networks of scale that can win,” Eun tells Online Media Daily. “I don’t think it’s a secret to say that the turnaround of AOL is hinged on content … It’s going to make or break [the company.]”
