We:30 Share and Tell: Whitney's photography

Every Wednesday at 3:30 we get together to celebrate an employee who exemplifies our core values to inspire, share, evolve, exceed and be 100% jerk-free. Our Share and Tell edition invites an employee to share something that inspires them and has a unique story. This week Whitney brought her photography!

Today, I brought some of my photography.  I was a professional photographer for about 5 years and also received an art degree with a concentration in photography.  It wasn’t long after my degree I decided to make my photography a hobby instead of a career.

The photographer I most admire is Steve McCurry, a photographer who shoots for National Geographic.  His captivating images allow your imagination to run wild as you look into the eyes of a stranger.  It is because of his photographs that that I fall in love with people from all over the world.

I have had the opportunity to travel all over the world and take photos along the way.  The photos I brought are from my trip to India from 2009.  It was such an adventure to meet these people and document their story in one photograph.  I submitted a few of my photos to National Geographic and was honored to learn they accepted one of my photographs into their database!

As for my future in travel photography, I currently have nothing in the books.  But, I do hope to soon travel to another country, and bring my storyteller, my camera.
