We:30 Share & Tell: Whitney Brings her Love for Disneyland
Every Wednesday at 3:30 we get together to celebrate an employee who exemplifies our core values to inspire, share, evolve, exceed and be 100% jerk-free. Our Share & Tell edition invites an employee to share something that inspires them and has a unique story. This week Whitney, our Marketing and PR Manager, shares her love for Disneyland!
I love Disneyland. I especially love the excuse to be a kid. For 8 straight years, I was an annual pass holder (aka AP) for Disneyland’s theme parks. Up until last year, Disneyland had been a regular part of my life. I have had so many fun adventures and laughs at Disneyland, it will always have a special spot in my heart!
As a college student, I saved up my money and bought my first annual pass. Little did I know, the fun would continue for 8 years! Through the years, I have learned some fun Disney trivia, been to Club 33 (a few times) and have even discovered some cheats on a few of the park’s games (I dominate in Buzz Lightyear’s Astro-Blasters!). My favorite aspect of Disneyland is how takes you to a whole new world (no pun intended), a world where all of your worries are left behind. It brings people together and encourages conversation while you anxiously wait for the next ride, or just enjoy the themed atmosphere.
As you scroll through my photos, I am sure you will quickly realize that Buzz Lightyear is my favorite Disney character. More than my love for Buzz, I have accumulated fun facts about the park during my time spent at Disney.
Here are a few:
Next year, my husband and I are aiming to bring back the tradition and become AP’s once again!
- Underground Disneyland- There are underground tunnels for cast members to hang out, both in and out of costume, while also transporting trash behind closed doors (so this isn’t as visible for those in the park)
- Hidden Mickeys- There is a hidden Mickey on every ride at Disneyland
- Dream Suite- You can stay inside the park at the Disneyland Dream Suite, located above the Pirates Ride
- Walt Disney’s Private apartment- There is an ever-glowing light above the firehouse where Walt Disney himself would stay with his family
