< Back to Main Blog We:30 of the Week- Amy By Aaron Pham on March 27, 2013 | Red Door, Red Door Culture | Leave a comment We:30 is a weekly tradition here at Red Door Interactive, in which we take the time to celebrate and feature an employee who exemplifies our core values to inspire, share, evolve, exceed, and be 100% jerk-free. We:30 also gives us a chance to learn some interesting and fun facts about the featured employee! This week features Amy Carr, Executive VP, Human Resources! Did you know… I grew up in Forest Grove, Oregon. It’s a small town west of Portland, now known for its good Pinot Noir. My parents live in the same house where I grew up. They are both retired teachers.I have fond memories of hiking, camping, biking, and canoeing trips together during summers when I was a kid. When we started Red Door we all wore many hats, and mine have included client services, accounting, and operations. I studied business and marketing at the University of Oregon. Reid and I met my freshman year at a sorority party and started dating my junior year. We have been married for 13 years. Our son, George (age 7), is the biggest Ducks fan in our family. I played the piano growing up, both classical and jazz and taught kids as a side job in college. It’s fun for me to help George now that he takes lessons (maybe less fun for him at times). I like sports and other active pursuits. I played soccer, softball, and swam growing up. Recently, I’ve added ½ marathons, sprint triathlons, paddle boarding, and rock climbing into the mix. At Red Door, I’m responsible for delivering a meaningful employee experience. I’m also corporate secretary and board member, which means I deal with risk management, legal compliance, and money-related stuff.
