RDI Wins Two Awards for Strategic Cross-Platform Pinterest Campaign

Red Door Interactive, a data-driven marketing agency, was recognized in the Web Marketing Association's annual Internet Advertising Competition (IAC), winning the  "Outstanding Social Media Campaign" award for its strategic cross-platform Pinterest campaign “I want it All for Fall”, created for Charlotte Russe. In addition to the IAC award, the campaign received a bronze Digital Marketing Addy award from the San Diego Ad Club.

To promote Charlotte Russe's new Pinterest account and highlight its back-to-school looks, Red Door Interactive created the cross-platform Pinterest contest located on the brand's Facebook page. Inspired fans and followers created Pinterest boards that portrayed their dream fall wardrobe and submitted the URL to the Facebook application in hopes of winning a shopping spree. A Red Door "style squad" then chose the top 10 finalists, who were put up to a fan vote on the application.

With more than 1,300 Pinterest boards submitted and nearly 50,000 application views, Charlotte Russe’s Pinterest account followers increased about 700% and gaining more than 3,500 new followers. “This was a really exciting contest because we were able to engage with and connect audiences from Facebook and Pinterest with a cross-platform contest,” explained Anne Buehner, Social Media Strategist at Red Door Interactive. “The Charlotte Russe girl has looked to the brand on Facebook for the latest trends and style discussions, but this gave her a chance to showcase individual preferences and swoon over the fashion eye-candy on Pinterest.”
