Red Door Interactive Grows with Acquisition of Assets from Local Web Development Company

San Diego Internet presence management firm expands clients and team with resources from AVENCOM

San Diego, CA, February 9, 2004– Red Door Interactive, a San Diego-based Internet presence management and strategy development firm, today announced that it has reached an agreement with AVENCOM to obtain the firm’s clients and team resources.

Red Door—recognized for providing the full spectrum of Web services, from creative concept development, design, strategy and online campaign assessment—will gain AVENCOM’s experienced team of Web developers. Red Door will also add several new clients in the government and home building industries, providing greater diversity to its existing base of local and national leaders, including Sharp Systems of America, Toshiba Network Products Division, SkinMedica and others.

In turn, Red Door will be able to offer existing and new clients even greater attention, perspective and expertise. Clients from AVENCOM will be able to work with their existing Web teams, with which they have already built relationships, while also getting the design and strategy expertise for which Red Door Interactive is known. Existing clients will experience enhanced service with the addition of leading developers that have demonstrated success.

"Presented with the opportunity to add resources with the AVENCOM team, we saw this as an ideal way to expand on Red Door’s capabilities to further serve the needs of our clients. With all of the similarities, such as our dedication to San Diego and our top notch development teams with similar cultures and processes, we are finding the transition to be a smooth one and expect our clients to be the biggest benefactors," said Reid Carr, president and strategy director of Red Door Interactive.

AVENCOM President Laura Wilber will continue to work with Red Door Interactive to provide support during the transition and will remain on the company’s board of advisors.

"It has been an exhilarating five years for AVENCOM, but presented with a new and exciting opportunity, I am ready to help Red Door move forward and pursue the next stage," said Wilber. "Red Door's professionalism and level of expertise make it the perfect firm to expand upon the resources that AVENCOM has developed."

Westchester Associates LLC, an international M&A advisory firm to technology businesses with offices in San Diego and London, acted as an advisor to Red Door throughout the acquisition process.
