San Diego’s Red Door Interactive Wins National Award
Standard of Excellence WebAward winner uses web services and advanced technologies to help visitors to select Sharp Systems of America products that best meet their needs
San Diego, CA, September 15, 2004 – Red Door Interactive, a San Diego-based Internet presence management and strategy development firm, today announced that it won the Standard of Excellence WebAward for its Web site developed for Sharp Systems of America. The award recognizes the downtown-based San Diego firm for maintaining the standard of excellence for which all corporate web sites should strive. Since 1997, the annual WebAward for Web site development, has been the premier awards event where Web sites are recognized, competing head-to-head with other sites within their industry and against an overall standard of excellence.

The winning Web site from Sharp Systems of America caters to executive-level business shoppers. It uses advanced technologies and Web services to enable consumers and businesses to select the best products from Sharp for their needs. The goal of the site’s design was to turn business executives into savvy computer shoppers by presenting product information in a way that even non-technical users could make educated decisions on important technology purchases. Selling product via e-commerce was secondary to highlighting the value and innovation of Sharp’s products.

Now in its eighth year, the WebAward Competition for website development is conducted by the Web Marketing Association, Inc. (WMA), an independent volunteer organization founded with the purpose of evaluating, recognizing and increasing the standard of excellence on the World Wide Web.
