Red Door Interactive secures more than 4,000 new Facebook friends for Souplantation’s “Pucker Up” campaign
April lemon-themed contest encouraged individuals to submit best sour face expression
Red Door Interactive, a San Diego-based premier strategic Internet Presence Management firm, today announced the addition of more than 4,000 new Facebook friends for Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes‘ “Pucker Up” campaign.
The lemon themed April contest encouraged individuals to submit a photo of themselves depicting a sour face, with the winner being awarded free meal passes.
“We wanted to not only increase awareness of our various lemon-flavored items, but also tighten our social media community and encourage involvement among our Facebook fans,” said Ginger Anderson, Web Manager and Graphic Designer for Garden Fresh Corp, the parent company of Souplantation/Sweet Tomatoes. “The online photo contest was a hit resulting in a significant rise in followers. It proves that we’re able to engage with our customers online and do fun activities that will keep Souplantation fresh in their minds.”
Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes launched its Facebook page earlier in the year. The fan count during the Pucker Up campaign increased by 640 individuals in one day alone soon after the promotion’s launch.
“This campaign was a perfect example of how information can spread virally. While 90 people posted their sour face picture on their Facebook wall for all their friends to see, it exposed Souplantation to thousands of those fans’ friends. The curious nature of the campaign led to a massive flood of new followers at the Souplantation/Sweet Tomatoes page,” said Brandon Zelasko, Business Manager for Red Door Interactive. “Campaigns like these can be extremely successful and provide customers with new ways to interact with their favorite restaurants and get a heads up on special offers, new menu items and even affords them opportunities to score free meal passes.”
Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes also promoted the Pucker Up campaign via e-mail blasts, Web site notices and Twitter blog posts, or “tweets.” Individuals can follow the company on Twitter at http://twitter.com/souplantation and on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/pages/SouplantationSweet-Tomatoes/58251723828.
